Pink Delta floats !

By

We were lifted into the water, engine ran smoothly. After letting go of lines and reversing off the engine cut out 😦 We slowly drifted with the tide, luckily we landed alongside another boat rather than the rocks nearby. With some helpful local hands and @aberystwythmarina we got a tow onto the fuel birth. After an hour of fiddling around we got the engine up and running! Just don’t ask me how …

Then with the help of my friends Bob and Andrew we set sail the next day for Fishguard. Smooth departure, we raised the sails and we’re soon accompanied by dolphins 🐬 sun shining and perfect 10-15 knots so us easy sailing. As we approached Aberporth we were hailed by the range and asked to alter course to avoid there firing range. We did adding an additional 4 miles to our journey. After clearing the range we rounded Cardigan island we had a clear run home. The wind died almost entirely after Dinas headland, we switched the engine on and made quickly on our way.

In Fishguard we picked up one of the visitor moorings but calculated the tide would drop to low and we need to be in deeper water so settled at anchor. Only to discover the near new dinghy had no pump, I called up Jeff who was out teaching the local kids in a rib, he kindly lent us a pump and even gave us a ride in to save paddling.

My mum was there to greet us and after the 40 mile passage we were all so proud 🥹
